Earlier, this segment attracted 10 percent customs only. Similarly, for EVs between 100 to 200 kW, the government has decreased the excise duty and customs duty to 20 percent each. EVs between 100 and 200 kW attracted 30 percent excise and 30 percent customs earlier. The current hot favorite in the Nepalese EV segment is the 50kW-100kW peak motor power segment with numerous offerings in contention from the likes of MG Motors, BYD, Tata Motors and Neta. In this battle for affordable EV supremacy, BYD has now announced that it will be launching the advanced Atto 3 (49.92 kWh battery) to take on the competition, most notably the MG ZS EV 99 kW.
